I know, wrong time of year, but as you may know I am currently working on the advent calendar. Now, Originally I wasnt planning to have any music in this calendar, but damn it, there are so many beautiful melodies I feel like including. I will play piano melodies and sometimes include some lyric-free vocals, and there will be different melodies for the different cultures, though the other days will just have general Christmas songs.
Now, the problem is just that a lot of the cultures I include here are cultures that havent traditionally celebrated Christmas, and as such there arent really any Christmas songs to speak of from them, at least not that I know about. However, it doesnt necessarily have to be a Christmas song, the one I have chosen for Imperial Russia isnt a Christmas song, and so I figured I would ask you guys, cause there may be some of you who at least know of some melodies from these cultures.
Here are the cultures I already have melodies for:
-Norse (Mitt hjerte alltid vanker. Norwegian Christmas song)
-Imperial Russia (Fly on the wings of the wind. Song from a Russian opera called Prince Igor)
-Rococo (Oh holy night. French Christmas song)
-Ottoman empire
-Chinese Han dynasty
-Celts (Auld lang syne)
Cultures I need melodies for:
-Sioux
-Inca
-Czhechoslovakia
-Ainu (northern Japan)
-Nubia (culture close to ancient Egypt)
-Maori
-Zulu
-Inuit
-Sámi
If I dont get any suggestions, I will just have to choose generic melodies from other cultures, but it would be nice to get something genuinely from the cultures in question.
Please only suggest songs that are in public domain (folk songs and songs that are over 100 years, for example), because DA does not allow the use of copyrighted music.

New Discord server
Hi, I decided to make a dedicated Discord server where I'll be posting everything related to The Wizard's Bestiary, including the translated script for the first chapter, if anyone wants to read it and give feedback. I'm not going to be giving a public link to this because I don't want a bunch of spam bots, and I'm also wary of NFT art thieves, but if you want access to it, just send me a private note here on DeviantArt, and I'll give you the link.
I think I'm going to call it quits
I've been on this website for 15 years, and it's been ups and downs, but lately I feel like this website might not even have a purpose to exist anymore. Everywhere I look, there's nothing but AI "art". Just pages upon pages of stuff no one even made, just created by a machine that users typed random keywords into, letting the machine mash together other people's artwork for them. The website is so completely oversaturated with these pieces, most of which have no comments, no favourites, and are mostly in the exact same art style, and frankly I'm beginning to find it really depressing to go on here. AI art has a place in the world, but this is not it, it should never be displacing real artists like this. The biggest hit for me on this site was when Flash died, and ever since, my page has basically been on life support, and this was the final straw. I went through the NFT nonsense last year with people stealing my pictures to sell as NFTs, but unlike NFTs, I don't see AI art as just a
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Instagram, or social media in general, but as a bit of an update, I'm now an apprentice at a tattoo studio, so I need to have Instagram in order to advertise to potential customers in the future. As such, I'm going to be uploading some of the same stuff that's here on DeviantArt there, so don't worry if you see someone called Ninarotattooart posting the same pictures as me, that's just my Instagram account. I'll also be adding some personal watermarks to my works instead of just the generic DeviantArt ones, but it's not a big difference, to be honest.
Movie review: The Northman
I had high hopes for this film. Being directed by the man behind The Lighthouse, and more importantly The Witch, which is one of the most historically accurate movies ever made and also my favourite horror movie, I thought this would finally be the Hollywood movie to do away with the mindless savage stereotype and do the Viking Age and Norse culture justice. I was wrong. Spoilers ahead, though seeing as this is basically a Viking version of Hamlet, I'm sure most of you already know how it ends. So first of all, let me mention that while I am not an expert, I am still a big Viking enthusiast, and I've done a lot of research on their culture and history over the years, and am a member of a Norse historian and reenactment community here in Norway, so I do have a pretty good clue on what's correct and what isn't. Second of all, I am bewildered at how positive the reception for this supremely stupid movie has been. Seriously, I cannot state this clearly enough: the way this movie depicts
